The pair of red supercars we have here has the power to sweep any aficionado off his or her feet, as we're dealing with two of the most extreme land-land missiles you can find in a showroom today.
We're dealing with a Ferrari 488 GTB and a 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo S, with the two machines engaging in a spicy drag race. The two met on an airfield, engaging in a half-mile brawl using a standing take-off. In fact, the start used the old-fashioned human Christmas Tree setup, with a beautiful girl ensuring the drivers get the required attention.
The speed demons battles at the Sift S3ctor California Airstrip Attack and, if the Neunelfer seems familiar, it might be thanks to the fact that we recently showed you the Porscha drag racing an Audi R8 V10 Plus in the same event.
As for the "flawed" part of the title above, this has to do with the fact that the Porsche doesn't come in factory stock condition. The German supercar comes with an ECU remap, one that takes its output from 580 to at least 600 ponies.
Then again, with the Prancing Horse packing 661 hp in factory stock form, we could say things were evened out. We'll remind you that, while the 488 uses an all-new twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8, the 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six at the back of the Turbo S gained what we call a civilian anti-lag system for the 991,2 mid-cycle revamp.
Even so, the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, gives us a complete perspective on the race, with the trap speed values been shown at the end of the clip.
And this is where the photo finish part of the title above comes into play - we can only imagine the kind of feelings and emotions experienced by the two drivers as they sped down the airstrip runway next to each other.
