Step inside what could be the ultimate family beach house on wheels. The Lopez Tiny was completed in 2023 and it is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful tiny homes brought to life by the Washington-based West Coast Homes. It successfully blends a popular layout specifically designed to meet the needs of family accommodation with gorgeous interior styling inspired by seaside living.
Sometimes, tiny house owners need to choose between the most functional layout and the satisfaction of perfect aesthetics. With the Lopez Tiny, this is no longer an issue. This mobile home was specifically adapted to be family-friendly and highly functional, while still flaunting the impeccable features of a luxury coastal abode. It doesn’t get much better than that, especially if you happen to love beach homes and the idea of a relaxed, luxury retreat vibe in a residential setting.

The Lopez Tiny’s teal blue cladding hints at its ocean inspiration straight away and is matched by gorgeous furniture in a similar shade. The teal blue furniture is beautifully highlighted by the neutral-tone color palette in calming, relaxing shades reminiscent of a sandy beach. Thanks to the overall light color scheme, the interior space looks even wider.

You won’t find the traditional shiplap walls; instead, the ceiling beams in a natural wood color add just the right level of texture and depth. Carefully selected details like the living room fireplace with a mirror on top or mirrored cabinet in the bathroom add a touch of glamorous elegance that elevates the overall style.

A beautiful interpretation of the San Juan design, one of the classic platforms in the West Coast Homes portfolio, the Lopez Tiny is particularly suitable for family living. With 400 square feet (37 square meters) of floorspace, it’s spacious enough to ensure both privacy and room for socializing. Its versatile accommodation capabilities include a traditional-style bedroom on the ground floor and one loft, with the added possibility of turning the living room into the occasional guest bedroom.

The loft is particularly suitable for children, unlike the typical lofts in the more compact homes on wheels. It’s big and luminous, with plush carpeted flooring throughout and generous windows. It’s also easy to access via a traditional-style staircase with handrails on both sides that make it extra safe. The staircase was specifically designed with a more gradual incline to make it child-friendly.

An unexpected added bonus is the sliding pocket door that turns this loft into an enclosed bedroom. Tiny house loft rooms are almost never fully enclosed, which is why they often lack privacy. This clever solution allows dwellers to customize the degree of privacy/openness, which makes this bedroom a lot better, especially in a family home.

Abundant storage is another feature specifically adapted to family needs, and the Lopez Tiny is remarkably versatile in this regard. The beautiful teal blue kitchen features not only the classic cabinets and overhead cupboards you’d expect but also additional (and optional) full-size closets. One is a dedicated pantry with lots of shelves, and the other is a versatile closet with enough space for hanging clothes and storing miscellaneous items.

Additional storage is cleverly hidden in the mobile kitchen island, a custom-made piece of furniture found in many West Coast Homes dwellings. This rolling unit is a great space-saver because it can be easily tucked away when not in use and also doubles as a generous cabinet with multiple shelves.

The kitchen’s smart layout combines ample storage with a smooth integration of all the appliances. If you look carefully, you’ll spot an adorable coffee bar, while the staircase provides a dedicated area for an optional washer/dryer unit.

Discretely tucked towards the end of the house, the master bedroom is a peaceful, luminous sanctuary for relaxation. Although it’s designed for a queen-sized bed, it also features the largest closet in the entire West Coast Homes range. While it provides maximum privacy, it’s also luminous and airy enough so that it doesn’t feel isolated. As you can see, both bedrooms in the Lopez Tiny are easily accessible for people of all ages, which ramps up the overall comfort level considerably.

The tiny bathroom is fitted with a 24-inch (61 cm) vanity and a mirrored cabinet, both providing easy-to-reach storage that keeps the bathroom clutter-free. The furniture in the same pastel shade as the rest of the house ensures a cohesive, harmonious style throughout. Speaking of style, the standard San Juan platform features a pitched roofline that adds a rustic, cabin-inspired charm. A covered deck would be the cherry on top, adding even more traditional charm to this otherwise modernly-styled home.

Even without the optional deck, the Lopez Tiny is designed to connect to the outdoors via the beautiful eight-inch-wide (20 cm) sliding patio door in the living room. The entire living room feels like an outdoor oasis in its own right, with a cozy ambiance year-round. With its versatile functionality and flawless coastal style, the Lopez Tiny is both a wonderful family home on wheels and a luxurious vacation retreat.

The standard San Juan model is priced at $170,000. This Washington-based builder with a solid construction background offers both park models and tiny homes. As a park model, the Lopez Tiny is built to ANSI 119.5 Recreational Park Trailer Standards. It’s more spacious than a typical tiny home, but also less mobile as it’s not intended for regular travel. Its final destination was Lopez Island, Washington, hence the name and its inspirational coastal style.
