Leaving aside the bosozoku style for now, it looks like the Japanese are also into rat-rodding... somehow.
Although you wont find a rusty chopped Model A spitting flames through its exhaust in Japan, you can find this neo-rat Scion xB cruising or showing off at a stance meeting.
From a distance you might be tricked into saying it’s a rusty pile of junk, but coming closer, you’ll find that rust on a plastic bumper is not that legit and the whole rusty theme is fake.
But it’s the best fake rust you have ever seen. It’s not a simple wrap as it has bumps, dents “rust bubbles” all over the place. Can’t tell how the tuner achieved the look, but it sure looks time consuming and it definitely involved an air brush.
