When it comes to the Dodge Challenger and Charger, there are still enough aficionados who consider that the carmaker got the number of doors on the latter wrong. Nevertheless, with these two ranges constantly becoming richer, there are always new reasons for the naysayers to simply choose one of the two and call it a day.
Nevertheless, the 2019 model year has once again increased the gap between the two Mopar toys. Sure, the Dodge Demon is no more, but while the Hellcat remains the top dog in the Charger lineup, the Challenger Hellcat can now be had in Redeye trim, which ups the ante to 797 ponies.
As you can imagine, there are Mopar fans out there who would also love to see a pumped up Charger (perhaps with the Redeye badge). For one thing, both the Challenger Hellcat Redeye and the Charger Hellcat come in auto-only form, so this could be an argument in favor of the idea mentioned above, albeit not a very solid one.
And while we're waiting to see if Dodge can build a business case for a Charger with more than 717 hp (this is the updated 2019 model year output for the Hellcats), we've brought along a rendering to help us pass the time.
