The turbocharged Carrera revolution brought by the 991.2 mid-cycle boost of the Neunelfer still splits opinions like few Porsche sportscars have and yet, when it comes to the aftermarket side of the industry, this is an occasion that simply can't be ignored.
The latest example of a tuner working on the voice of the 2016 Porsche 911 Carrera can be experienced in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page. The clip shows a base Carrera that has been gifted with a Fabspeed Motorsport exhaust system.
By "base" we refer to a rear-engined coupe that doesn't even pack the Porsche Sports Exhaust feature, which means the driver can use the sweet little button which switches between the two modes of the hardware.
The 911 sees here is gifted with the full Fabspeed Motorsport arsenal, including sport headers, high-flow sport catalytic converters, as well as a center muffler bypass x-pipe. As you can imagine, such an overhaul means the car's voice goes pretty far from what a stock model is able to deliver.
"Some clips were filmed with the Catbypass Pipes installed. The sound & performance is nearly identical to the Sport Cats, but Fabspeed recommends Catbypass Pipes for vehicles that will regularly be used on racetracks," Fabspeed states in the video description.
Now, 911-driving boys and gals, decatted adventures are not exactly street legal, so we'd recommend caution when configuring your custom exhaust system.
Regardless, the 3.0-liter turbocharged flat-six occupying the rear of this Carrera is quite a dB delight, so we're inviting you to turn up the volume before hitting that "play" button.

There's one thing you need to pay attention to when speccing your exhaust
While the video allows us to get a very good taste of this Porscha's aural might, there's a twist and we'll let the tuner explain it."Some clips were filmed with the Catbypass Pipes installed.
