I kid you not, but the 50th Anniversary Edition of the Chevrolet Camaro is “the most epic Camaro yet” according to the automaker. Dear public relations professional from Chevrolet, what possessed you? Do you have a dictionary lying around your office?
Look up the definition of “epic.” As an adjective, epic is not the right word to describe a special edition of the Chevrolet Camaro. It’s the most irritating and overused word ever on the Internet, next to “fail.” As an added bonus, “Epic Win” began trending as a meme before 9GAG was founded in 2008. Feeling old yet, people of the World Wide Web? What about you, public relations professional from Chevrolet?
Now that I’m finished with my rant, what do you want to know about the 50th Anniversary Edition Chevrolet Camaro? Well, it is a car that celebrates half a century of all things Camaro. It was 1966 when the Camaro started to be a part of any conversation on pony cars, muscle cars, and so forth. More to the point, it was two years late to the Ford Mustang's party.
Available as a coupe or convertible, the “most epic Camaro yet” is nothing more than a visual package available for the 2LT and the 2SS. Be it equipped with the 2.0, 3.6 or the 6.2, the red-letter day Chevrolet Camaro comes with a Nightfall Gray Metallic exterior. On the standard Camaro, that’s a no-cost option.
Other highlights include the RS Appearance Package for the 2LT model, 20-inch wheels with an anniversary motif, specific exterior badges and orange stripes, interior 50th Anniversary treatments galore, black leather with suede inserts and orange stitching, and a unique front grille with satin chrome accents. Oh, nearly forgot to mention this one - orange brake calipers at all four corners. The 50th Anniversary Edition 2LT, on the other hand, comes with orange-painted calipers only at the front. Epic fail? You betcha.
