After a long gestation, it looks like Energica, the first-ever Italian electric superbike will be available in February 2015.
The bike is technically ready, and will enter a pre-production phase, with the first machines to undergo official testing and homologation procedures in 2014, readying the production which will start in February 2015.
The Energica delivers 100 kW (134 hp) and top speed of 240 km/h (150 mph), but it's the single-speed and the 195 Nm (144 lb-ft) torque which will be the main attraction.
Add in an interactive color TFT with plenty of functions, smartphone and tablet integration, multiple riding modes and the 100% Italian racing bike design for a truly interesting piece of e-bike technology. The final retail price will be available later.
