Being a famous former rapper / underwear model and currently one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood does have its perks. Number one: you get free endorsement from the likes of Ellen DeGeneres.
This summer, Mark Wahlberg announced that he was further branching out of showbiz by opening his own car dealership in Columbus, Ohio. As he tells Ellen DeGeneres on the latest episode of her talk show, Ohio was a logical choice, since he has his restaurant business there, too.
Plus, he used to work as a car salesman and even trained to be a mechanic before he found fame, first as Marky Mark, then as a Calvin Klein model and then as the actor the entire world knows and loves. In other words, opening a car dealership came naturally, organically.
Because Mark and Ellen are pals, he got her to endorse his Chevrolet dealership on the show, by putting together a hilarious, fake “ad” for it. You can see it in the video at the bottom of the page.
Apparently, the Mark Wahlberg Chevrolet Dealership will sell any car you can think of (except ice resurfacers Zamboni, because those are “currently sold out due to high demand”) and present you with very attractive deals. These include a steering wheel and 4 tires on each car, or free DVD or Blu-rays of the critically panned “Ted 2” and “Transformers: Age of Extinction.”
You can even find a 2018 dump truck at Wahlberg’s, or get a free Wahlburger from the actor’s restaurant on a pricier deal.
After Ellen gets Mark to promise he will air the ad, she presents him with an inflatable tube man with his face and pecks on it, which he could display, if he wanted, outside the dealership. Clearly, Ellen is looking to have the place inundated with women – but you know what they say, money knows no gender.
