We knew that the four-wheeled star from Gone in Sixty Seconds still has a lot of fans, but we’d never have thought that a replica of the famous ‘Eleanor’ Mustang GT would be auctioned off all the way across the ocean in Great Britain.
However, for an estimated GBP70,000 - 90,000, this big-screen jewel can be yours, all be it in replica form. That might sound like a lot of money, but to get to this stage, the 1967 Ford Mustang GT Fastback has undergone a 2000 plus hour restoration to full Shelby GT500 specification.
This isn’t some kit replica, as the shell of the car was blasted to its sheet metal form, while even the arches were made of metal.
Under the bonnet resides a Ford 427 cubic inch V8 (that’s about 7 liters) mated to an uprated 5 speed Tremec T5 transmission. Additional engine modifications include: a Scat 4340 Crankshaft with 4'' strokes, Scat 6.2''H Beam Rods, KB Forged Flat Top Pistons, Clevite Bearings and a Ford Racing Aluminium Tall Valve Cover.
