Few 90s cars get more love than the Mk IV Toyota Supra and the E36 BMW M3. From movies to local car shows and the Internet, these two coupes have a special place in aficionados' hearts. As such, it hurts us to report that a recent hooning attempted ended up ruining both a Supra and an M3.
The accident took place in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, while a shop was trying to film a commercial.
As you'll get to see in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, which was captured by the videographer hired for the job, it all started with the M3 attempting to drift his way around what apepars to be a blind corner.
The driver lost the car to oversteer and ended up hitting a Supra parked on the side of the road. With the impact taking place at respectable speed, this took quite a toll on the machines, especially in the case of the Bavarian coupe.
The YouTuber behind the camera dropped a few explanations in the description of the video: "Everyone involved in the accident was safe from serious injury. We were filming a steady shot of a built E36 M3 driving through frame when the driver lost control and smashed into a parked RHD Mark IV Toyota Supra,"
Now, there might be more to the story than just a terrible ka-bang. To be more precise, we could be looking at the shop that built the M3 doing the drifting that led to the crash without the owner's permission.
And judging by the damage visible in the clip, at least the BMW seems to have been totaled (it looks like the frame was seriously affected).
Here's to hoping this accident at least serves as an example towards keeping the drifting for the track.
