Ducati Launches the Officina 125 Gran Sport Pen

Fans of the Italian motorcycle brand are certainly familiarized with the classic Ducati 125 Gran Sport model, a machine that played an important role in the company’s history. In order to honor that model, Ducati has recently launched the ‘Officina 125 Gran Sport' pen.

“This the latest addition to the official ‘Museo Ducati Collection' of pens from 3.6.5 by Giuliano Mazzuoli and takes its name from the motorcycle that represented a milestone in the history of Ducati motorcycles and the earliest example of the sporting and commercial victories of the company,” Ducati explains in a statement for the press.

Every pen is hand machined from a solid piece of aluminum and the design recalls the cooling fins and knurled finishes typical of the Ducati racing motorcycles of that era. Available in anodized red and super matte chrome, the pen can function as a ball-point with Easy Flow system or a 0.7mm pencil and comes in retro-styled packaging that captures the heritage of the motorcycles on display in the Ducati Museum in Bologna, Italy.

“The ‘Museo Ducati Collection' is the result of two companies passionate about preserving the style of products "Made in Italy". The new pen, and the collection to which it belongs, is part of a licensing agreement between the Ducati Foundation and 3.6.5 by Giuliano Mazzuoli, with all royalties donated to support the social and cultural activities of the Foundation,” the statement further adds.

All the pens in the collection are red, made out of anodized, polished chrome aluminum and adopt the form of an End Mill, Thread, and Micrometer.

The ‘Officina 125 Gran Sport' pen will be available in prestigious stationary and specialty shops worldwide from April 2011.
