Remember the anniversary BMW M5 model? The one called ’30 Jahre M5’? Yes, the one that celebrated three decades of M5 models. Well, that car wrote history in a number of ways and it wasn’t just another ‘special’ model that didn’t bring anything new to the table except some interesting optional features.
Oh no! That car is the most powerful and the fastest car the Bavarians ever made. With 600 HP and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque, it tramples over the specs the ‘regular’ M5 shows: 560 HP and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque. Furthermore, compared to the normal car, it’s half a second faster to 100 km/h (62 mph), doing the benchmark speed in just 3.9 seconds.
Unfortunately, this beautiful model (made only in Frozen Silver) was built in just 300 units. We don’t have an official estimate just yet but we’re guessing that all of them have been sold already. Prices started at $138,275 in the US but every different market had a different price. In the meantime, some people asked up to $200,000 for one on eBay.
Now, the Germans are showing you what you can do with the extra power when not driving on public roads. BMW Product Manager for M Automobiles, Tina Schmidt will explain everything to you. Heck, she’ll even show you! Check it out!
