Less than four months have passed since Drayson Racing set a new world land speed record for electric cars, and the British-based manufacturer managed to improve its benchmark with an average speed over one mile, from a standing start, of 205.139 miles per hour.
In addition, Lord Drayson’s team set three more speed records at England’s Elvington Airfield, including average speed over one kilometer at 333.271 km/h, fastest quarter mile for EVs at 9.742 seconds and 92.383 mph, and British land speed record for cars of any propulsion type driven by their wheel over one mile from a flying start at 219.1 mph (352.6 km/h). All records are subject to FIA homologation and MSA ratification.
