The Tesla Cybertruck might have been presented at one point as the electric truck that could survive the apocalypse, but, in reality, it probably can't hold a candle to any of the machines rolling out of Florida-based Apocalypse Manufacturing.
Apocalypse Manufacturing was created by Joe Ghattas a few years ago out of the desire to offer a truck that would survive the end of times while still keeping its passengers in the lap of luxury, a stated mission that raised more than one eyebrow in mockery at the time.
Since then, Apocalypse Manufacturing has worked hard and now boasts over 250 such apocalypse-ready machines on U.S. roads, a customer roster that includes A-listers from sports, music, and film, and a lineup that counts with several models and extra customization options to choose from.
As expected, the promise of a truck that could ride out anything the apocalypse might throw at it while retaining everyday functionality and, just as importantly, still be insanely luxurious proved irresistible to well-heeled celebrities. As such, it should come as no surprise that Drake also owns one now. The only surprise here is what took him so long to get it.
Maybe the context wasn't right before, but it is now that he's considering living part-time in Texas, U.S. Drake has recently experienced several security incidents at his home in Toronto, including a shooting and invasion of privacy from the media. His next move was to purchase a $15 million ranch in Texas where, based on his social media, he will be raising and training horses and posing for glamour shots, among other things.
He'll also be doing another type of riding, now that he's taken delivery of his brand new 2023 Apocalypse Super Truck 4x4, which comes with a price tag that usually starts at $200,000.
This is the most in-demand model from the Apocalypse Manufacturing lineup. Drake's packs a Hemi Hellcat V8 6.2-liter engine that develops 870 hp, four-wheel drive, and features that make it both Texas- and apocalypse-ready. These include armored and riveted doors, five off-road driving modes (Sport, Drag Race, Baja, Rock, and Mud), 22-inch wheels, an LED light bar, power steps on the sides, and a high-performance cooling system designed for desert climates.
Like all beefed-up trucks branded with the Apocalypse logo, Drake's stands out for its luxury features as well. The all-black matte exterior comes with a Siberian Tiger interior, complete with print upholstery and matching dashboard. Photos shared by Drake on social media make it look as if the seats are zebra-printed, but the customizer has shared more with one celebrity outlet – and they clearly show that's not a zebra print.
Drake's Super Truck can also ramp-launch 10 feet (3 meters) off the ground, which we assume is a handy capability in zombie-infested times. Inside, it packs a 12” infotainment screen and all the modern comforts of a luxury ride. Just because it's the end of times doesn't mean millionaires or players like Drake have to skimp.
