In what can only be described as an one of the strangest drag races ever to use a couple of family sedans, the guys at Autoforum.cz pitted a brand new Skoda Octavia vRS and a 2013 Subaru WRX STI (Euro-spec, sedan).
On paper, the disparity between these two cars is huge. The WRX STI is by far the better car, with 300 hp from a 2.5-liter turbo and boasting 5.2 seconds to 100 km/h. On the other hand, the Octavia only has 220 hp from a smaller 2-liter turbo. Besides this, it only has front-wheel drive. If we are to talk numbers, the new Octavia RS sprints to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.8 seconds
But it seem in the real life, somewhere above 120 km/h the two cars are quite evenly matched. Please keep in mid these two videos come from a Czech reviewer, but the Octavia vRS is without a doubt a fast car.
