Don’t Drive When You’re Tired - Ever!

While it may not be imposed on regular car drivers, as it is on truck drivers and commercial vehicle drivers in general, taking breaks and resting is vital to reaching your destination safely. You risk your own health, as well as the health of others, or, if you’re lucky, only the integrity of your car.
The driver in this video is clearly not driving particularly well, going round a bend and cutting the corner (not because he wants to kiss the apex like racing drivers, but because of an acute lack of sleep and the inability to see properly and concentrate). He gently moves off the road, hits a bunch of trees then a concrete pole which finally brings his unfortunate ride to a stop.

It is vital not to go driving when you’re tired, especially if you have a lot of ground to cover and you’re alone - a passenger is recommended for company and conversation and even a driver swap if you begin to feel your eyelids getting heavy and your coordination failing you.
