The videographer behind the Wheels channel on YouTube is a big fan of The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and he witnessed something Ford vs Mopar going on – all over again!
Unfortunately, when you say pony cars, you can't know Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger without a tear in the corner of your eye – that's because they're not in production anymore. General Motors decided to retire the sixth-generation Chevy Camaro from production in December 2023. They sent it on indefinite leave of absence until they decided what to do with the iconic nameplate. Hopefully, they won't make it a cheap EV, as a certain corner office head honcho has recently hinted.

After a wink, wink at Mark Reuss and the idea of an affordable back-to-basics all-electric sports car, let's also remember that Dodge has also ceased production of the L-bodied seventh-generation Charger sedan and third-generation Challenger coupe around the same time as GM. In their place will come solely the eighth iteration of the Charger with a traditional two-door fastback coupe body style and the novel four-door sedan format as well as a quirky set of powertrains: EV or 3.0-liter inline-six Hurricane twin-turbo mills.

Oh well, at least we can rest assured that the seemingly eternal Chevy-Dodge-Ford brawl will remain valid at the local quarter-mile dragstrip for as long as there are repair shops that can handle a Camaro, Charger, or Challenger. For example, the videographer behind this channel is hunting Mopar versus Blue Oval action, and not long ago, we saw a couple of Dodge Challenger coupes dragging a Ford Mustang GT and a Boss 302 with quite obvious results. Now they're back for more action.

This time around, The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway is hosting a tale of V8 foes – a silver Dodge Charger 392 Scat Pack with a nice bee decal on the sides twice valiantly fought a funky camouflage-wrapped Ford Mustang GT. The first encounter was one of those instances when one driver is sleeping on the line, and the other tries (but fails) to catch up with their opponent. We won't spoil the outcome, but we can tell you that after that, we can see the Charger faced off with another 392 model, a blue one.

Last but not least, the Ford Mustang GT came for a second skirmish, and more of the same happened all over again. Oh, well, we can easily guess that some folks don't get to sleep too well at home – maybe they have young kids or a stressful job – and they take advantage of every other opportunity for a nap, including when they're supposedly racing against other folks at the local quarter-mile dragstrip. Now, let's check out the video embedded below and see who ultimately won the skirmishes, shall we?
