The good folks over at the racing-focused ImportRace channel on YouTube are not at their usual venue - Island Dragway in Great Meadows, New Jersey, but at Texas Motorplex in Ennis, Texas.
This videographer has recently expanded his reach tremendously. When not at home at the island Dragway base, he traveled to places like Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida, then Pocono Raceway (The Tricky Triangle) in the Pocono Mountains in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, and also Maryland International Raceway in Mechanicsville, Maryland.

Earlier, they also extensively covered the TX2K event at Texas Motorplex, and now the videographer is revisiting the location for a quick brawl between a Chevrolet and a Dodge. Apparently, it's not as interesting as those coming between the 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (C8) and the Dodge Charger Daytona or Sixpack because we have to wait a little longer.

More precisely, the latest and probably greatest ZR1 is set for the official reveal on July 25, 2024, and it's probably going to take a while before Chevy actually starts production and first deliveries of their new C8 monster. Dodge, meanwhile, should have already started the procedures for the Charger Daytona all-electric models, but the rumor mill recently uncovered dealer documents showing the launch was delayed three months, from May to August, due to pesky electrical problems.

Setting aside the irony of an EV with electrical issues, this encounter is between a fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro (model years 2010 to 2015) and a third-generation Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. As far as we can tell, the Camaro is a non-ZL1 variant, so it could make the GM versus Mopar bets obsolete if not for the feeling that we should always expect the unexpected at the local quarter-mile dragstrip.

Besides, the contrast between the orange Chevy Camaro and the green Dodge Challenger is absolutely fruity and just the right combination of summer colors. Oh, and one more thing – these two aren't part of the ordinary Camaro and Challenger bunch; otherwise, they wouldn't need parachutes attached to their backs. As such, let's prepare for a brawl of the ages – especially since these two are now defunct nameplates, and any skirmish has the potential to become a legendary occurrence.

It's also safe to assume that both drivers knew very well what they were doing as the two pony cars converted into great muscle cars started the head-to-head battle, well, exactly head-to-head. The Chevy Camaro even tucked its back low and raised the nose in defiance a little more than the mighty Mopar, and the two shot down their lanes as if they were liquid-fueled rockets.

As it turns out, at least one was because the 'SRT CAT,' labeled on the front license plate was nitrous fed! Anyway, this skirmish ended quickly, with the winner posting an 8.536s versus the loser's 9.239s pass at 160 versus 149 mph. Now, this is a very short video – just 43 seconds, so we are not going to spoil the outcome. Instead, it suffices to say that both rides looked amazing and performed flawlessly, making us sad again to see them ready for retirement after they went out of series production in December last year.

After watching the quick video embedded below and disregarding the result of the brawl, please tell us – which one was ultimately your favorite.
