The good folks over at the racing-focused ImportRace channel on YouTube are not at their usual venue - Island Dragway in Great Meadows, New Jersey, but at Bradenton Motorsports Park for another excerpt from the Street Car Takeover event.
Naturally, they have found the perfect racer to focus on – an all-black Dodge Challenger with a black body, black racing wheels, and humongous rear tires. It's an SRT model, of course, and judging by the side badges plus the partial widebody kit, we are dealing with one of the seven 'Last Call' special editions for the 2023 model year, the mighty Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170.

Don't think of the Demon 170 as another, fresher Demon – Dodge engineers thoroughly overhauled the muscle car's engine and drivetrain for this last call special edition. Plus, they infused it with up to 1,025 horsepower on E85 plus the desire to hit 60 mph (96 kph) in just 1.66 seconds and run the iconic quarter-mile at the dragstrip in a best time of 8.91 seconds. The numbers seem out of this world, and, indeed, it's hard to match them in real life – but that doesn't mean people won't try.

So, this all-black example was on point at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida, during another round of the Street Car Takeover event and met some worthy opponents. To put things into the proper perspective, the first is an orange Honda S2000. It's not the classic roadster with the naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine, though, but a fiery turbocharged V8 swapped example, according to the description.

Of course, seeing the looks of this contraption and the massive burnout signaled a big challenge for the Demon 170, which meant the driver was ready to give it their best shot – a feisty 9.41s pass at almost 151 mph or 243 kph. It was a walk in the park because the orange rascal failed to launch properly and stopped dead in its tracks without even moving past the Christmas tree.

Secondly, a feisty green Audi R8 came along – and these V10 supercars are not something to be trifled with, especially since racers know very well that they're prone to massive enhancements from the aftermarket realm. As such, the Demon 170 tried to do even better than the first time and rocked the track with an even-better 9.08s pass at almost 151 mph! Well, that wasn't enough because the Audi was a proper rocket on wheels, and the driver nailed a 7.68 ET at 194.5 mph (313 kph)!

However, since the R8 started the race way later than its opponent, the track's light system recognized the Demon 170, once again, as the overall victor. Last but not least, the Mopar also fought a Camaro… but that wasn't something to write home about, at least not for Chevy fans!
