The 2025 Ram 1500 family with the absent Hemi V8 and the new 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six twin-turbo options is, of course, the talk of Mopar town as far as American pickup trucks are considered. Unfortunately, the ruggedly charming Ram Rampage has faded out of attention.
The Ram Trucks family includes more than just the 1500 and heavy-duty counterparts outside North America. They also have the Rampage produced in Brazil and even the 'new' Ram 1200 mid-size pickup truck specifically designed for Central and South American markets. It's not coming to the United States and Canada – but that's more than ok.

It's basically a Ram-converted Peugeot Landtrek, which, in turn, is already based on a Chinese model. So, we really don't want it to reach the US because it would tarnish the brand's image in more ways than imaginable. Anyway, on the other hand, we're truly sorry the unibody Rampage compact pickup truck produced by Stellantis in Brazil, as the first Ram vehicle produced there, is missing in action from the rumor mill's whispers about crossing the northern borders.

Built on the same Small Wide global platform shared with the Jeep Compass, Jeep Commander, and Fiat Toro, it is the largest vehicle produced on it to date and would represent the perfect counterpart to Ford's mega-popular Maverick and the less-successful Hyundai Santa Cruz with its 272-hp 2.0-liter Hurricane inline-four turbo mill.

However, it's been a while since we last heard that Stellantis plans to release it in North America so it's possible they changed their minds behind the closed doors of corner offices. Anyway, if they needed additional motivation, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators believes that Ram could successfully compete against its fellow Dodge and Jeep brands with something based on the Rampage.

More precisely, Kleber Silva, a Brazil-based virtual artist better known as KDesign AG on social media, has decided to have a CGI go at imagining an entire family could fit in a Ram Rampage – by morphing the unibody compact pickup truck into a comfortable and spacious seven-seat SUV inspired by the ruggedly charming and boxy Jeep Commander (XK – built from 2005 to 2010).

If real, this could certainly give the Dodge Durango a run for its money without actually trespassing into its mid-size territory. Instead, it might act as a foil to models like the Kia Telluride, Toyota Grand Highlander, Hyundai Palisade and Santa Fe, Mazda CX-70, and others like them – albeit at a lower pricing point thanks to its appurtenance to the lower class.

So, what do you think? Should Ram at least bring the Brazil-made Rampage to North America and try to battle the ritzier Hyundai Santa Cruz (recently updated for the 2025MY) and the highly successful Ford Maverick? Should they also derive it into a practical yet rugged-looking three-row crossover SUV, or is this merely wishful thinking?
