Stellantis is a busy bee as of late – and many of its projects have to do with the all-new EV lifestyle. Think about the Dodge Charger Daytona, Jeep Wagoneer S, or the Alfa Romeo Junior.
We selected those examples to narrow down the field to premium models because otherwise, we would also have to discuss all of Europe's small hatchbacks and crossover SUVs like the Fiat Grande Panda, Opel Frontera, and Citroen C3 Aircross, among many others.

Alfa Romeo is among the Stellantis brands that benefit from getting extra attention and a focus toward the spotlight of the automotive industry's red carpet. They now have a true lineup, also: the refreshed Giulia Sedan and Stelvio crossover SUV, the hybridized Tonale compact CUV, as well as the 33 Stradale supercar and the newly all-electric Junior (formerly known as Milano before a brawl with the Italian government).

The latter is a subcompact crossover SUV, the smallest Alfa Romeo currently up for grabs, and their first all-electric vehicle that enters production because the 33 Stradale is going to be handcrafted in Milan by the specialists over at Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, not by Alfa Romeo itself. But, as it turns out, everyone – including the interns – is craving for more.

Since the premium and sporty Italian automaker is now firmly into electrified territories with the PHEV Tonale and all-electric Junior plus the EV version of the 33 Stradale, it's quite obvious that few people will think about more ICE-powered vehicles. Alas, the EV field is currently saturated with obvious products like crossovers and sedans. So, how about a sports car that can also double as a saloon?

The good folks over at car.design.trends have recently focused our attention on a hypothetical proposal for a new kind of EV from Alfa Romeo done by Leonardo Di Trapani, aka leonardo_ditra_ on social media, who is a virtual designer with experience as an Alfa Romeo intern. His project, naturally, isn't about a different brand – even though in the past he also created proposals for the Polestar design contest, a new Morgan dubbed Lowtail, or even Mitsubishi as his design thesis was a cross-coupe dubbed Mitsubishi HS-R.

Now, though, he's choosing an iconic trait for this internship project, which looks and feels spectacular enough to warrant a chance at making it into the real world. Meet the Alfa Romeo Codalunga, a Quadrifoglio vehicle for the novel EV lifestyle that's also not just a sports car, because we feel that it could also double as a fastback sedan if we interpret the CGI hints correctly.

With the next Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio rumored as an all-electric 1,000-hp sedan and the 33 Stradale limited to just 33 examples, the Italian automaker could surely use something like Codalunga as a new flagship for the zero-emissions age, right?
