Land Rover Defender Fire and Ice got the official unveiling earlier this year but the cars have finally arrived in Singapore. Curiously, the parent manufacturer prepared only six units for the local market, according to a report by icars.sg, out of the total 850 units planned for production.
The special edition is offered with a wide array of enhancements, including leather and Alcantara trim, color-coded head- and tail- lights, glass sunroof panel and diamond-turned alloy wheels. The Fire and Ice, which actually represents the colors of the limited series, will be launched only in select countries, including Austria, Belgium, Brazil, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain and Ukraine.
The Fire version of the new series is painted in Vesuvius Orange metallic, while the Ice version is finished in Alaska white. Both models have Santorini black painted hoods and roofs. The Ice is based on the Defender 110, while its nemesis on the Defender 90.
"Inspired by the world’s most challenging landscapes - where Defenders have earned their reputation for rugged dependability - the Fire & Ice models blend classic Land Rover functionality with a stunning new style," the parent manufacturer said in a release in June when presenting the car.
Pricing for the Singaporean market starts at S$ 218,888, which is the equivalent of around 158,000 US dollars. The limited series is a bit cheaper in other markets across the world. For example, the price tag in the UK is 68,400 British pounds which is approximately 113,000 US dollars.
