After a four-month delay, Lincoln dealers are finally fully stocked with the company’s new luxury MKZ sedans, Ford’s marketing executive Jim Farley announced yesterday.
Although the mid-size luxury vehicles started rolling out the assembly line at the end of December, it’s only now that Lincoln dealerships are able to meet their customer’s requests. According to Farley, the automaker has shipped 11,000 MKZs nationwide since December, with more than 4,000 units already sold in April. “Although we’re encouraged, we’re far from victory”, he said, hoping that the MKZ saga is now a thing of the past.
The Lincoln MKZ delivery was delayed after Ford decided to retain the first Mexico-built vehicles in order to re-inspect them in a facility near Detroit, following several recalls issued for the Fusion and Escape models. The luxury brand is now assembling about 200 MKZ sedans a day.
