Daimler Trucks' commercial vehicle subsidiary in most of Asia, Mitsubishi Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), just announced somewhat of a milestone achievement during the course of their history by delivering no less than one million vehicles in Indonesia.
MFTBC has been present in Indonesia since even before being under Daimler's umbrella, way back in 1970, and FUSO is actually the market leader in the overall truck segment there, having a 45.8% market share from January until August 2013.
“One million commercial vehicles sold of our tradition-rich FUSO brand in Indonesia prove that we have the right products on offer for our customers in the country. Indonesia is a strategically important market for our growth strategy as a country that already ranks third among the largest sales markets for light-duty trucks worldwide.” said Dr. Albert Kirchmann, Head of Daimler Trucks Asia and MFTBC President & CEO.
According to the press release, the FUSO Canter truck (pictured above) has taken the Indonesian market by storm, having a share of no less than 52.5% in the light duty truck segment.
