Romanian carmaker Dacia won't be offering new models anytime soon, with parent company Renault looking to reach new markets instead of expanding its lineup.
"We have the product now, the investment is done – it is now time for us to milk the cow and concentrate on growing the business we have created," Renault CEO Carlos Tavares said.
With seven new models launched in the past three years, Dacia could include a city car and a large saloon in its range, according to Renault product planning boss Tom Lane. However, expanding towards new segments is not a priority and probably won't happen for at least one and a half years.
"The brand is targeted at the mass market, and neither would be a stretch for us within that remit. There is a temptation to expand Dacia, but it is probably not a priority at the moment. We have other things within the group to consider, but Dacia will grow in time," Lane added.
Dacia has just introduced the new Logan MCV at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, along with a limited edition of the current generation Duster SUV, called Adventure.
