The Dacia Duster has reached the 500,000 units production milestone, with the particular example of the crossover being built at the Mioveni site in Romania.
The news comes after Dacia had announced the production of the 400,000th Duster in February this year. Just like back then, we are talking about a top-end diesel Duster using the 110 HP 1.5 dCi engine, using the Laureate 4x4 trim.
While the 400,000th Duster was dressed in Gris Platine, the 500,000th unit comes in Gris Olive. The vehicle is destined for a customer in France. We have to explain that the Mioveni plant in Romania has exported 95 percent of its production so far.
The low-cost crossover represents 40 percent of the overall daily production. The vehicle received a facelift at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. Among others, this brought a new 1.2-liter TCe turbocharged engine delivering 125 HP, as well as features such as a MediaNav infotainment system.
