With van life gaining so much popularity in recent years, more and more specialized companies and individuals have popped up, eager to cater to adventurers who don't want the hassle of building a tiny home on wheels themselves. Since I mostly cover companies who make conversions, today I wanted to take a break from that and shine a light on a talented individual who created an awesome mobile home, which is currently for sale.
Meet Andrew Bock, an avid skier and mountain climber. Recently, he finished converting the rig I'm discussing today, a 2022 Ram ProMaster 2500 with a high roof and a 159" wheelbase. As usual, I'll start the tour with the exterior.

You'll be able to tell this is a camper van as soon as you see it. Two features give away its camper DNA: an RV window on the van's sliding door and a Fiamma F80s manual awning on the passenger side. Other notable exterior features are two 250 W solar panels, a Maxxair fan, and a Dometic A/C.

Slide the main door open, and you'll discover a well-equipped, finely designed living space. Regarding aesthetics, Andrew opted for wood trims for the countertops, tables, and windows, paired with black cabinetry, laminate flooring, and white porcelain tile backsplashes. What's more, this rig comes with an open layout, meaning the driver's cabin isn't separated from the living space.

Dead ahead of the entrance, you'll find this van's seating area. It consists of a bench, a sizeable flip-up table, two overhead cabinets, and a floor compartment housing a Webasto Evo 40 gasoline heater fed by the vehicle's gas tank. The driver's and passenger's seats can be swiveled to face the interior, thus completing the seating area. What's more, underneath the bench, Andrew installed a slide-out Nature's Head composting toilet.

Next, we have the kitchen, which is split into two parts. It features a farmhouse-style porcelain sink, a 4-gallon (15-liter) electric water heater in the cabinet underneath the sink, an oven/three-burner stove combo, a 65-liter 12 V Bodega fridge/freezer, two flip-up countertop extensions, and a wall-mounted magnetic knife rack. For storage, you'll find many drawers and cabinets, a shelf, and a chute that leads to a trash can.

Andrew also integrated two control panels on the kitchen walls. The one on the passenger side comprises an inverter controller, a battery monitor, two outlets, and a timer switch for the water heater. The other has remotes for the Maxxair fan and the Dometic A/C, a heater controller, two outlets, and dimmable light switches.

The rear part of the interior, like in most camper vans, is taken up by the bedroom. It boasts a full-size mattress that's 8 inches (20 centimeters) thick and two spacious overhead cabinets. Moreover, the bed frame is made from cedar timbers.

Andrew created recessed sides for the bedroom, allowing him to mount the bed to sleep people from side to side. The width of the bedroom is 78 inches (198 centimeters) from wall to wall.

Finally, Andrew positioned the bed higher up to leave room for a garage underneath. It offers a ton of space and can be accessed from both inside and outside the rig. It's even tall enough to fit 27.5" mountain bikes.

On the left side of the garage, you'll discover the Victron electrical system, part of it exposed through what I think is plexiglass. Its highlights are a 3,000 W inverter/charger, Ah batteries, two DC-DC chargers allowing the system to charge while driving, a charge controller connected to the 500 W solar panels on the roof, and a master switch.

The opposite side holds this camper van's 39-gallon (148-liter) freshwater tank. The plumbing system in this rig is quite straightforward. Water runs from the tank at the rear through to the sink. From there, a Y valve allows you to rain it either directly underneath the van or in a 7-gallon (26-liter) greywater tank in a cabinet under the sink. Furthermore, you can mount a hose and attach it to the sliding door to enjoy an outdoor shower.

All in all, Andrew did a great job with this tiny home on wheels. It's cozy, practical, and quite well-equipped, considering its compact interior. As I mentioned earlier, this rig is now for sale. Its odometer currently reads 16,100 miles (25,910 km), and Andrew is willing to ship it nationwide.

You'll have to empty out $89,500 (€82,343) to get your hands on this camper van. A 2022 Ram Promaster with similar specs goes for around $35,000 (€32,201), so you'd pay around $55,000 (€50,602) for the conversion. Is that a fair price? Well, that's for you to decide.

Other converters will ask a similar price for a conversion, if not more. Moreover, considering the equipment and specs of this van, I'd say it's a good deal. You can find out more about this van on its Facebook Marketplace listing.
