Probably the most anticipated sports car from BMW of the last few years is the new M3 but the i8 is not far off, offering half the conventional engine but more eco-friendly advantages than you could possibly imagine.
The car that was imagined for the first time in 2007 and introduced as the VISION concept, eventually was unveiled by BMW in its production form at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year and the crowd was stunned.
It wasn’t because they didn’t see anything like it before but rather because nobody expected it to look so much like the concept. The butterfly doors and the wings at the back were kept alongside most of the interior and the front fascia.
Speaking of the interior, this is truly one car that has a brand new design inside the cabin, one that doesn’t necessarily stick to the same look Bimmers employed in the past. However, even though it’s completely new, you can still instantly recognize it as a BMW.
On the outside, the i8 will be available in a limited range of colors. You’ll have to pick between Ionic Silver, Protonic Blue, Crystal White and Sophisto Grey. It looks like a poor selection for a car that costs $135,700 in the US and €126,000 in Germany but it will have to do until BMW announced the availability of Individual paints.
In the meanwhile, a test car was spotted in Munich, wearing the aforementioned Crystal White and it was looking so beautiful that we simply had to share it with you.
