Back in 2020, the Australian camper scene witnessed the birth of the Sherwood Conquerer. Four years later, that puppy's gotten an upgrade, and it's more kick-ass than ever. Time to elevate your off-grid-living experience.
Ladies and gents and lovers of the greater outdoors, before you lies one of Suncamper Motorhomes' newest and grandest additions to the family, the Conqueror 2.0, part of the newly unveiled "2.0" lineups revealed for all Suncamper vehicles.

Now, kicking things off for this lineup, allow me to point out that Suncamper offers the Conquerer with your choice of the base vehicle, be it a Toyota Hilux or a Ford Ranger, both of which see intensive modifying and countless added goodies.

Be sure to weigh your options based on your needs and budget. Speaking of budget, for the fresh model, Suncamper is asking us to dish out at least $240K Australian, which is roughly $159K American. Yes, that includes the entire setup, and not just the conversion.

As for some of the changes that the Conquerer has undergone, Suncamper has messed around with the shape to provide more ground clearance and a better departure angle, but it has also increased the size of the bedding area.

Since this sort of unit is all about on-road creature comforts, let's start with what we find inside. Because the Conquerer is a cab-over unit, Suncamper places the main bedding area up here, out of the way of the day-to-day activities you may embark upon. A ladder is also included in the upgraded version to allow for easier access to this elevated space.

Beyond that, we find ourselves in the main living space, where the manufacturer managed to add every little thing you can think of. After making your entry via the port side of the RV, you'll find yourself right in the middle of the action, with a galley block to your right and sink vis-a-vis, and in front, a fully equipped wet bath. But, at the far end of the unit, a massive u-shaped dinette is in place and easily suitable for a group of four. Best of all, this dinette doubles as yet another bedding space in case you need it.

Moving forward into the Conquerer, Suncamper has taken extra special care of the electrical, plumbing, heating, and even cooling systems. After all, it's a machine designed for full-time on-road living, and that's precisely what it offers.

Let's start this chapter of the Conquerer with things like 600 W of solar panel power mounted to the top of this beauty, controller included, a 3,000 W inverter, up to 400 Ah of battery juice, and a diesel hot water system. Oh, and 80 liters (21 gals) of dedicated fresh water is now available in the 2.0, and another 95-liter (25 gals) main water tank, each with its own pump.

With most of the essentials out of the way, let's head outside and explore what's in store here, as there's plenty to talk about, but I'll try to be brief. Starting with a few vehicular goodies, Suncamper kept the snorkel in place, added a new bull bar, integrated bash plate, winch, a Pedders suspension, tire monitoring system, and so much more.

Did you happen to notice the awning strapped to the side of this unit? How about the "improved" roof rack, now suitable for surfboards and kayaks? No? I'm sure you saw the countless storage lockers tattered all over this puppy, one of which hides an outdoor shower setup.

The shell, chassis, and rack also offer countless mounting options for an array of gear; maybe look into adding an e-bike rack, or bring along a toy trailer with a couple of dirt bikes. although, if we consider just how far into the wild the Conquerer can venture, you'll need to really find a trailer that can hold up to the abuse.

Sure, a whole lot more goes into each of these mobile homes, but if we were to go through each item, we'd be here for quite some time. So, for the next few moments, just kick back wherever you are, picture yourself behind the wheel of the Conquerer, music blaring in the cab, and you driving down the highway.

Suddenly, you see a trail break off from the road in the distance and start slowing down to take that sharp left and venture where very few others have done so. It won't matter what the road to some hidden haven throws at you; the 2.0 is ready; just roll up the windows if the waterline starts rising. No joke.

Once you've found your slice of the Garden of Eden, start unfurling all that this habitat has to offer, and enjoy the sunset. The night will probably catch you with the rest of the group circled around a bonfire, someone on a guitar, and the stars overhead. This night's about wishing upon every shooting star you see. I wonder what tomorrow has on the itinerary.
