Chrysler Group LLC has published its US May 2013 sales today, reporting a total increase of 11 percent compared with the same month last year and the company’s best May sales since 2007.
In addition, Jeep’s Wrangler and Compass models recorded their best sales ever. With 16,272 units delivered, Wrangler sales were up 13 percent in May, smashing the previous record which was set in June 2012. With an increase of 42 percent last month, the Jeep Compass has returned the largest year-over-year percentage gain of any Jeep model in May.
Ram Truck brand deliveries increased as well, setting the best May sales since 2007 by going up 24 percent. Dodge brand sales were up 23 percent last month, marking its 24th consecutive month of year-over-year sales gains.
“Our best May sales in six years enabled us to extend our sales streak to 38-consecutive months of year-over-year sales gains,” said Reid Bigland, head of Chrysler US Sales. “We continue to see strong retail sales throughout our product lineup as eight Chrysler Group vehicles set sales records in May, including best sales ever by the Jeep Wrangler and Compass.”
