While most of the world’s companies (automakers included) don’t really care about their employees, regardless of whether they are an asset to the company or not, the Chrysler group has just received its fourth consecutive yearly award for promoting and allowing a healthy lifestyle for its employees.
The National Business Groupe on Health (NBGH) is responsible with identifying the US’ “leading corporations for innovative programs promoting a healthy workplace and employee lifestyles.” Noteworthy is the fact that Chrysler is the only automaker to ever receive the distinction.
According to Nancy A. Rae, Senior VP - Human Resources for the Chrysler Group “Chrysler Group recognizes that providing a healthy workplace and improving the health and well-being of our employees and their families is essential to our building and sustaining our success in the future [. . .] This award validates our invested efforts in creating a culture of health which is a clear indication of our corporate values and a strategic differentiator as we recruit and retain talented people who enable the Chrysler Group to compete and grow."
More automakers should take note, and improve their work conditions and atmosphere, as happy and healthy workers equal better cars and it would be in everybody’s best interest.
