In an attempt to both boost sales and bring back customers it lost during its bankruptcy struggle, American manufacturer Chrysler announced the "Double Cash for Your Old Car" program, which means you can get up to $9,000 for the old vehicles when purchasing a new Chrysler, Jeep or Dodge.
“Everyone shopping for a new car or truck qualifies for an incentive of up to $4,500 – even if they don’t have a vehicle that qualifies under the U.S. Government’s program,” Steven Beahm, Vice President – Sales Operations, Chrysler Group said. “This incentive is great in that it’s easy to understand and available to everyone.”
Beginning tomorrow, July 23, and all the way through August 31, Chrysler will offer up to $4,500 Consumer Cash or 0 percent financing for 72 months through GMAC Financial Services on most 2009 model vehicles. On July 23 the government's Car Allowance Rebate Systems (CARS) program is also set to debut.
“The administration’s program is aimed at getting less fuel-efficient vehicles off the road, and for vehicles that meet the requirements, offers a great incentive to do so,” Beahm said. “But we didn’t want consumers without qualifying vehicles to feel left out so we are offering up to $4,500 to everyone.”
In all, the manufacturer has 35 models of Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles eligible for the program, present in all its 2,400 dealership network. Don't expect though to get the $9,000 for every car you trade in. Both the CARS program and Chrysler's incentive are subject to certain terms and conditions.
