A beastly souped-up Chevrolet S10 pickup truck faces the Ford F-150, 1st-gen Chevy Silverado, Lingenfelter Corvette C6, Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 392, and Ford Mustang S550. The expression "You win some, you lose some" rarely applies better than in today's drag race at the good old Bradenton Motorsports Park in Florida.
The first duel was between the Chevy S10 and the Ford F-150. It's as clear as daylight that both of these pickups aren't your average baseline trims. As soon as the lights turned green, both were neck and neck and went for a classic photo finish.

Luckily, the scoreboard was able to tell them apart, showing the Ford as the winner by fractions of a second. The F-150 crossed the line after 12.015 seconds, going 107.59 mph or 173 kilometers per hour, while the Chevy did it in 12.095 seconds at 104.57 mph (168 kph).

Next, the Chevrolet S10 fought a close sibling, a 2003-2007 first-generation Silverado far removed from the days when it came out of the factory with 4.3L, 4.8L, 5.3L, or 6.0-liter mills. By the time the rubber particles settled on the hot tarmac, the Chevrolet S10 had outdone itself and finished in 11.901 seconds at 109.81 mph or 177 kph. The Silverado did 12.115 seconds and had a top speed of 114.69 mph or 184.5 kilometers per hour.

Then, it was time for the winner to fight against another relative, the Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06 tuned by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, which produces 505 horsepower. Some of the company's previous works on C6 Vettes have supercharged engines that can output anywhere between 500 and 750 horsepower. No matter the dyno figures, it won in 11.309 seconds at 131.46 miles per hour or 211.5 kph, and the Chevy pickup did it in 12.084 seconds at 110.50 mph or 178 kph.

The $49,265 RWD Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 392 was up next. In typical factory settings, it comes with a 392-cubic-inch (6.4-liter) HEMI V8 engine producing 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet (644 Nm) of torque. A step above it is the famous $71,295 SRT Hellcat, with a 6.2-liter engine that can output 717 hp and 656 lb-ft (889 Nm) of torque.

As it turns out, the Dodge 392 didn't need the Hellcat trim to win, besting the pickup in 12.050 seconds at 109.94 mph (177 kph). The Chevrolet S10 finished in 12.185 seconds at 100.67 miles or 162 kilometers per hour.

The last contestant was the 5.0-liter Coyote Mustang S550. During the first match, the digital scoreboard fell asleep at the wheel and didn't display the Mustang's time, so they did a repeat. The Chevrolet won in 12.153 seconds at 99.46 mph or 160 kph, while Ford's pony did it in 12.275 seconds, going at 117.69 mph or 189.4 kph.

Too bad we didn't get a result in their first race. It was so close, the Mustang might had even won that time, who knows? At least one thing's for sure, the nice folks from the "ImportRace" YouTube channel were right on the money filming the Chevy during all these fantastic races.
