Chevrolet Volt Online Configurator Launched

American manufacturer Chevrolet is on the final stretch, gearing up for the launch of a model which it hopes will make history: the Volt. Even if the arrival onto the market of the model will be at first restricted to several areas and will take quite a long time, the carmaker plans to give all those interested the chance to configure their own Volt.

Chevrolet launched the configurator for the respective model as a means to show more than one face of its first plug-in hybrid. As usual, we played a bit with the configurator so we can now give you a preview of the choices future Volt customers will have.

The PHEV will be offered in six exterior colors, including the one which it was painted in when it first rolled off the assembly line, Viridian Joule. The interior will be offered in five color combinations, most of them black.

For the interior, Chevrolet will offer a Premium Trim Package for the Volt ($1,395), which comprises perforated leather-appointed seat trim, heated driver and passenger seats, leather wrapped steering wheel and premium door trim. A Rear Camera and Park Assist Package is also up for grabs ($695).

As you will see if you visit the configurator, the Volt has little to offer when it comes to personalization. Even so, a version equipped with everything available will cost you $43,685. The base price for the model, before applying federal or state incentives, is $41,000. For that money, Chevrolet will deliver the Volt together with a 120-volt charge cord.
