Rumors about a standalone Chevrolet SS go-fast sedan have been floating around the web for quite a while and now the fire has been fueled again, with new details having arrived.
The Chevrolet SuperSport Sedan will use the Zeta platform found under the current Camaro and will also borrow the latter’s 6.2-liter V8 (from the SS version) that will deliver 421 hp. However, for those who are not looking for maximum performance, GM will also offer a less beefy powerplant, in the form of the company’s fresh 324 hp 3.6-liter V6, which made its debut on the 2012 Buick LaCrosse.
Chevrolet also has a juicy marketing plan for the vehicle, as it want to promote it through NASCAR. Thus, a racing version of the car will debut in the 2013 season, the same year when the road version should arrive.
