If you're eager to park the new C7 Corvette into your garage but you can't really afford one, Chevrolet might give you a helping hand in the near future.
According to a Motor Trend report, the "bow-tie" company is preparing a cheaper Corvette for 2015, which will come without the Stingray badge, probably called just Coupe, and with a smaller 5.3-liter V8 engine based on the one debuting in the new GM line of pickup trucks.
The so-called low-cost Corvette is expected to boast under 400 horsepower in order for the 450 HP 6.2-liter V8 Stingray to keep its warm place above in the market as far as performance figures are concerned. Visual changes are to be made as well, including new front fascia, front fenders and rear diffuser.
The car's base price should slide below the $50,000 tag to keep things interesting. The 2014 Corvette Stingray has a base MSRP of $50,595.
