Car Bros, the wacky team who knows how to come up with parodies that fulfill our full-giggle expectations, has returned with a new spoof, this time targeting Ken Block's Gymkhana series.
Now, before we move any further, we have to explain the Supra mentioned in the title. While this is not a joke, we can thankfully tell you the iconic Toyota sportscar getting bashed in the video is actually a remote-controlled car, so Supra fans can stop sweating now.
Returning to the story of the parody, which is called GYMPKHANA, we don't want to ruin the fun by throwing too many spoilers at you. Even so, we can't help but mention one of the main ingredients in this video is the utter lack of tire smoke. Then again, when the main four-wheeled actor here is a late 80s Honda Civic wagon, the smokeless experience doesn't come as a surprise anymore.
Come to think of it, if we had to fill Ken Block's DC Shoes, we'd use this clip as a bit of an inspiration source. You see, much like it happened with the original Top Gear, the Gymkhana series now risks crumbling under its own weight.
The drifter keeps upping the ante on all fronts, from the cars (Hoonicorn, anybody?), to the locations (the Dubai aroma) and his slip angle-related moves, but the problem is that the whole stunt has become somewhat predictable.
And while it's easy to state out-of-the-box thinking is required without coming up with a solution, perhaps Ken Block delivering his own spoof wouldn't be such a bad idea. After all, such a production wouldn't prevent him from introducing new moves like he did back in the San Francisco installment of the franchise when his drifting became three-dimensional. Are you thinking airplanes and parachutes, like we are?
