Lotus built the Esprit between 1976 and 2004, making it their most successful car by far. But for the true performance freak, only the V8-powered version introduced in 1996 will do. It’s probably the cheapest mid-engined V8 supercar you can buy right now, and some people like to tune it to make it go past 200 mph.
This is probably why somebody wanted a custom Esprit V8 with more power and went to German tuner Cam Shaft.
They fitted modified turbos, a bigger intercooler, racing exhaust and a host of other mods, with the end result being an output of 485 bhp (492 PS).
As a result, it will do 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 305km/h (190mph).
But even if it can’t play with a Ferrari 458 in terms of top speed, the Espit is still cool in our book. This is mainly because it’s the only one to come with a wrap inspired by the John Players Special F1 team from back in the day. Gold on black is the Lotus way!
