Cadillac is set to recall almost 20,000 units of the 2013 SRX in the US and Canada, as well as 7,397 that were exported, due to an issue that could lead to the wheels falling off.
The problem comes from the lug nuts, which are coated with Teflon (you can identify this by the blue tint on the finish) and may become loose. The first symptoms are strange noises or vibrations in the steering wheel.
However, the issue could lead to wheels falling off, even though no reports of such incidents, or of crashes related to this problem, have been filed so far. Owners will receive notifications from GM starting from June 3, with dealers scheduled to replace the nuts and rotate the tires so that any uneven wear problem is solved.
We’ll remind you that 27,000 units of the Cadillac SRX were recalled back in March due to a transmission software problem.
