If you think you've got an ambitious resolution for 2021, how about racing a Bugatti Veyron in a C8 Chevrolet Corvette? Well, this kind of shenanigans is precisely what brought us here.
Now, one might expect this mid-engined 'Vette to rely on a pair of turbos in its battle against the Molsheim machine. It's no secret that the Internet had been dreaming of TT C8s that make for sub-$100k builds taking on much more expensive speeding tools ever since the Chevy was introduced. However, as tuners have yet to crack the factory ECU of the LT2, this kind of fantasies require a bit of extra waiting.
Well, you should know this C8 Corvette Z51 still comes in factory trim, which means its naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 produces 495 hp (502 PS).
However, that didn't keep Mod2Fame, the YouTuber behind the wheel, from duking it out with said Veyron during a recent car meet. You know, the 2005-introduced monster animated by a quad-turbo 8.0-liter W16 motor delivering 987 hp (1001 PS) in the spec seen here (make that 1,184 hp/1,201 PS for later models).
Now that we've had a giggle going over the numbers, we could try to think of a reason for this David-vs-Goliath adventure.
Who knows? Perhaps this velocity battle will be used as a reference point once the vlogger has his way with that LT5. Let's just hope that such a battle would take place at the drag strip, not on the street, as is the case with the one we have here.
With the C8 driver not keeping the car in maximum attack mode for the first race (you'll find this at the 11:14 point of the clip below), the two went for a second battle, which saw the Corvette ride the upper side of the rev range in second gear (this awaits you at the 14:06 point of the video).
After all, racing Veyrons in highly modded machines has been providing entertainment for quite a while now, so why wouldn't the C8 gang deliver the next episode of the saga?
