New owners of Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV SUVs in the United Kingdom have the opportunity of getting a free home charger assembly installed free of charge.
The offer is for a 3.6 kWh Chargemaster Homecharge unit, which comes with the domestic installation package. With this system, the batteries of the Outlander PHEV will be charged 60% faster than with a 13A socket, and it is described as the safest and fastest way to replenish the battery of a PHEV at home.
Furthermore, all new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV cars will get a free Polar Plus membership, which provides instant unlimited access to the Chargemaster network in the UK, which has over 5,000 public charging points. The membership will be valid for a six-month period, but that would be enough for anyone to remark its benefits.
Chargemaster is Mitsubishi's official charging partner in the United Kingdom. The home charge kits from the brand come with a three-year warranty, and its engineers say that any customer will get a trouble-free installation within two weeks. Interested clients must apply online for this offer, or by calling the Chargemaster Homecharge team on 01582 399 412.
The offer is available to new Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV customers that register between 14 October 2016, and 28 December 2016. The installation date is January 31, 2017, or earlier. The clients must be eligible for the OLEV Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme grant, and it will be free for those that only need a standard installation.
Mitsubishi’s only plug-in hybrid model, the Outlander PHEV, was launched in 2014. At the time, it was the only product in the segment that was an SUV and that also had four-wheel drive.
In the United Kingdom, an Outlander PHEV starts at GBP 31,749, and the most expensive variant starts at GBP 42,999. The regular Outlander starts at GBP 24,799, and its most pricey version surpasses the cheapest PHEV option, with a list price of GBP 32,899.
