Buick Verano Seats Set New Standards in Ponytail Accommodation

The funniest official announcement by a major manufacturer came today when GM said that over 1,000 hours of development went into the seats of the 2012 Buick Verano to “help prevent “hot spots” from happening on long drives and help protect hair-dos from head rest interference.”

What that means is that these seats take better care of your ponytail than a Lexus IS or Acura TSX... or at least that’s what they want us to believe, but we have no ponytails to test the seats with.

Instead, we’d propose that GM should also test for the comfort of back-to-front baseball caps, bats that are clamped to the back of your head and even sharp objects that you’ve been stabbed with.

“When we set out to design a comfortable interior for Verano our goal was for customers to feel like vacation begins as soon as they get in the car, and not when they reach their destination,”
said Brian Schell, Verano program engineering manager.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
