While it won't sell in spades – unlike the Veyron and Chiron, which had 950 between them, the Tourbillon will only be made in a lower count of 250 units – it's safe to say this Bugatti reveal was the biggest automotive news of June 2024 across the worldwide industry.
Interestingly, Bugatti abandoned the signature W16 engine of its two predecessors in favor of something else – not something bigger or smaller, though. Developed under the direction of Mate Rimac, the extraordinary Bugatti Tourbillon shouldn't but can be judged against Rimac's signature creation, the all-electric Nevera hypercar.

The figures are extremely close – the Nevera has 1,914 horsepower, and the latest Bugatti is a little off at 1,775 horsepower. However, the way each makes that power is different – the Tourbillon has an all-new hybrid V16 powertrain with plug-in capabilities. It will drive silently when it needs to and roar like a maniac when allowed – that's really the best of both worlds.

Naturally, it's also marginally quicker than its predecessor, the mighty Chiron – two seconds to 62 mph or 100 kph, while the fastest Chiron needed 2.3 seconds for the sprint. However, if anyone wants to split hairs, the exterior styling is (surprisingly or not) far more classic Bugatti than anyone had expected it to be, considering that it was developed under the guidance of Mate Rimac.

Well, maybe they did a quick gathering of the world's one percent of the one-percenters and found out they wanted an electrified Bugatti looking almost the same as the Chiron. Sure, there are major details that set them apart – like the winding rear LEDs with a neatly integrated 'Bugatti' script as opposed to a straight LED strip on the Chiron.

But if you look at them from the sides, they're almost indistinguishable, and the front is not easy to compare, either. If you look carefully, the horse's hoof radiator grille is much wider now, the LED DRLs have a different style, and the lateral intakes have a crease each. So, perhaps some folks would like to see the Bugatti Tourbillion a little more futuristic rather than traditional?

No worries; the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is here to oblige. More precisely, Pham Huy, the Turin-based Vietnamese pixel master better known as huydrawingcars on social media, has finally returned to ideation sketches after a very long line of see-through 'transparent car' renderings. And his first order of CGI business was to have fun redesigning the front end of the spectacular Bugatti Tourbillon.

As it turns out, without dropping the iconic DNA elements, this pixel master moved toward a more futuristic design with C-shaped LEDs that cover a very big area and stretch from the front hood to the front spoiler lip. For good measure, he also gave us these ideation sketches in a variety of digital colors. So, what do you think, which one looks better – this or the real thing?
