A tiny house in the middle of nature doesn't have to be a modest, rustic cabin with only the basic amenities – unless that's exactly what the owners want. The glamping trend has brought a fresh perspective on enjoying the outdoors without having to sacrifice high-standard comfort and even luxury. Personal tiny homes can also mimic the glamping concept with a few modifications, proving that luxurious comfort and a strong connection to nature are perfectly compatible.
Australian and Kiwi tiny house builders seem to have a special gift for creating amazing indoor/outdoor spaces. No matter the size or configuration, these homes on wheels effortlessly enhance the dwellers' connection to the outdoors. These are also some of the most modern, fresh designs you'll find globally in the world of tiny living: unusual layouts, ingenious design hacks, and an overall cool ambiance that could please even the most demanding urban customers.

Named after the famous suburb of eastern Sydney with its iconic beach, the Bondi Tiny blends the relaxed, ultra-cozy atmosphere of a beach house with the stylish functionality of a contemporary haven on wheels in the middle of the urban jungle. This versatile tiny would feel at home anywhere, but its potential is fully unfolded in the middle of nature, surrounded by amazing views. Far from the traditional cabin-style tiny homes and their nostalgic interiors, this young and fresh design brings urban glamour to outdoor living.

Compact and slim, Bondi is a two-person home ideally suited for romantic getaways. The only bedroom is located upstairs, while the open-space main level is informally divided into a small lounge, a contemporary-style kitchen/dining area, and an enclosed bathroom. This might seem like a basic configuration, but small details make a big difference, and sophisticated styling adds another layer. In the end, Bondi is anything but basic.

The wide glass entrance doors lead straight into the kitchen, which truly is Bondi's heart. The L-shaped countertop is more than a generous surface for preparing meals; it also creates the perfect space for a built-in breakfast bar on the outer side. It's a clever way to use every inch of space and increase functionality, and it also looks great. Since it's placed right between the kitchen and the lounge, this cool dining setup becomes a versatile, multi-function feature. It offers the convenience of a separate spot for breakfast without actually taking up too much space.

A combination of overhead cupboards matching the overall kitchen furniture and contrasting floating shelves adds another stylish, contemporary touch. There's also plenty of space for traditional cupboards and premium appliances, including a two-burner gas cooktop, an electric oven, and a range hood. The full-size fridge fits perfectly in the dedicated tower with additional storage on top.

In other words, this premium kitchen would be great even for long-term accommodation and even for a small family. For many, the kitchen is the most important part of the house, and they wouldn't be disappointed by the Bondi's flexible cooking/dining area. In fact, this tiny home's entire main level is one big indoor/outdoor space for socializing, enjoying meals together, and enjoying nature at the same time.

The huge window at the back turns the lounge into an observation room that invites the outdoors in. Although small, this lounge feels much more spacious and open, thanks to the extensive glazing. It's all about creating a seamless flow all throughout the home and expanding it outside. This is what makes Bondi and similar Aussie tiny homes feel so open, relaxing, and connected to their natural surroundings.

Still, even the ultimate outdoor sanctuary on wheels needs some privacy. In Bondi's case, you'll find it upstairs, in the loft area. Unlike some of the more rustic tiny homes that keep their loft rooms fully open, this modern tiny can afford a bit of separation without it turning into isolation.

A full-height protection wall keeps the loft bedroom away from prying eyes and also doubles as a generous closet on the inside of the room. The loft itself isn't too big, but it seems more spacious and luminous than its actual size due to the large windows and an additional skylight. With so much natural light and fresh air, Bondi's loft won't feel at all cramped, even with that full barrier wall.

Since the Bondi Tiny is all about luxurious comfort, it couldn't ask its guests to use a basic ladder for access. Instead, it features a modern-style staircase with integrated storage and a simple handrail. Both the staircase and the kitchen design work around each other to maximize functionality while saving space where possible. As for the bathroom, it's no less glamorous than the other areas of the house. In addition to the standard equipment, it features ample storage in the form of an elegant vanity and extra drawers.

At a little over seven meters (23.6 feet) and under 4.5 tonnes (4.9 tons), Bondi is meant to be fully mobile on the Sunshine Coast's roads. It's a middle-range design for this Aussie builder, who also makes homes as compact as six meters (19.6 feet) and as big as ten meters (32.8 feet). This also makes it more affordable compared to the larger models, with pricing for the turnkey version starting at just AUD 130,000 ($86,750).
