BMW X6 M Becomes Nowack N700 4.8

The not-so-famous Nowack Motors tuner has created what can only be described as an SUV beast: the N700 4.8, a 715 hp and 623 lb-ft (845 Nm) incarnation of the BMW X6 M.

The X6’s 4.8 twin-turbocharged V8 powerplant, that originally developed 555 HP and 500 lb-ft (677 Nm) of torque, has received a severe whipping in order to submit the new power&torque wave to its future masters.

The process is anything but simple: once the engine arrives form the BMW factory, it is stripped and its cylinder block is bored&honed in order to accommodate eight larger, high-spec, pistons. The cylinders are dressed in Alusil to offer a smaller friction coefficient. They also feature special valve pockets, piston rings and piston pins. The unit also receives a new crankshaft, a high performance camshaft & performance intake valves, free-flow cilinderheads, a new flow bench, new valve springs and others.

Having been fitted with upgraded internals, the V8 gets beefier turbines, free-flow air filters, high performance exhaust manifolds and a bespoke exhaust system featuring sport catalytic converters and rear silencers. The final touch is given by an ECU remap. This includes setting the SUV’s electronic speed limiter to 330 km/h. The tuning house says that the maximum torque is developed at 2,600 rpm, making the car suitable for everyday driving conditions.

Nowack Motors has fitted a new braking system and a new suspension to the car, in order to help it handle the new power and torque levels. The most demanding customers can choose the optional gearbox and differential modifying kit - this will be tailor made.

The only change to the car’s exterior is a set of 22 inch light alloy rims. The interior of the X6 comes with multiple Scottish leather finishes and a long list of entertainment systems.
