Trying to keep up with the best-selling luxury sports activity vehicle title in Australia, German carmaker BMW announced the introduction of the High-Tech Innovation for the SUV, bringing a host of technology and comfort features frequently ordered by customers.
The new package will replace the Executive models and will cost an extra AU$11,200 when ordered in conjunction with the X5 xDrive30i and X5 xDrive30d, or AU$9,500 if ordered in combination with the Sport or M Sport packages. According to BMW, if taken separately, the new features would have been priced at AU$16,600.
For the X5 xDrive35d, the package will cost AU$2,900, while for the X5 xDrive48i the price is set at AU$1,200.
The package will offer rear view camera and Park Distance Control (PDC) sensors, Top View side mirrors cameras, automatic tailgate operation, exterior mirrors with automatic anti-dazzle function including fold-in and parking function, and electric seat adjustment for front seats with memory for driver’s seat.
Infotainment is enhanced with the use of a ontrol display with 8.8-inch colour monitor and Professional Navigation, television function and voice control and USB audio interface.
In addition to the High-Tech Innovation, BMW has also tweaked the Professional Navigation System on the X5, which now provides a new iDrive Controller, three-dimensional relief maps, DVD drive and an integrated 80 GB hard disc drive.
