On May 24th, the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2013 will kick off and, as usual, BMW will be there, as we reported earlier. This year, the event will be hosting yet another launch for the Bavarian company.
The car that will be officially unveiled in 9 days was created in collaboration with none others than the designers from Pininfarina, the people responsible for some of the most beautiful cars ever built.
Called BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe, you probably already guessed that it will be based on the most beautiful car the propeller badged manufacturer has to offer at the moment, the Gran Coupe 6 Series.
According to company officials, their creation will be the embodiment of sheer elegance, a sequel to last year's BMW Zagato Coupe. However, the Gran Lusso Coupe is headed in a different direction, ready to join the high-end luxury class.
The vehicle body is elegant, with a generous surface design and taut contours. At the same time, the BMW trademark proportions are still there (long wheelbase, stretched bonnet, short overhangs and a smoothly sloping roofline) which makes this unique project seem powerful without moving an inch.
The whole point of the exterior design was to harmoniously combine the power of the V12 engine under the bonnet with elegance and style. Looking at the interior you'll find a perfect blend of contemporary elegance and luxury.
Even though the Gran Coupe already had an impressive interior design, with the help of Pininfarina, the best got even better. The whole driver oriented shape of the dash and central console has been rethought and is now even better and more fluid.
Unfortunately, for the moment, BMW decided to tease us with some shady pictures and make us wait for the official unveiling 9 more days. Seems like a long time, doesn't it?
