In line with the rest of the 3 Series models, BMW game the M3 a 2016 facelift. It was unveiled last September at the Frankfurt Motor Show and we thought over 20 minutes of video footage will show everything that might interest a potential buyer.
Probably the biggest change is represented by the newly designed full-LED taillights. They offer instant response times, which could prove useful on the track. They are also quite beautiful, combining a bit of the design from the 7 Series with a darker tint.

German market models also gain two new BMW Individual colors, namely the Smoked Topaz metallic and Champagne Quartz metallic. They sit alongside the exclusive Tanzanite Blue metallic and Azurite Schwarz metallic finishes.

Moving inside, the facelift brings about the latest generation of the optional navigation system with LTE connectivity.

Sadly, this particular model features black instead of the new chrome interior features and the new wheels design hasn't been specified either. In typically German fashion, it's black-on-black-on-black everywhere.

No changes in the performance department either, as you still get the same 431 PS from the 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine. Even though it's supposed to be restricted to 250 km/h (155 mph), this car is able to reach 267 km/h (166 mph) in the independent test. And no, we don't think that's because the Competition Package de-restricts the car, just BMW's more... relaxed way of imposing its own rules.

The updated M3 started production last year and has more standard equipment than before, with Comfort Access Keyless Entry coming for free along with satellite radio with a one-year subscription. The M4 coupe and convertible will also get LED taillights and all these features too. However, we've only now spied it, so you'll have to wait a few more months.
