When BMW decided to launch the M6 Gran Coupe in the US, they decided to do it properly: at a race track. Therefore, most journalists from the US were invited to the newest track in the USA, the Circuit of the Americas, in Texas.
One of the teams that got to experience the Gran Coupe M car was the BimmerFile one. Fortunately, they also brought their cameras around to show us how the sleek Bimmer looks like on the track.
There's little to be said about the M6 GC on the track that wasn't already said. It's huge, massive, a proper limousine and yet the S63 V8 engine under the bonnet makes you forget all about it when you throw it on the COTA.
Sure, it won't be as agile as a proper sports car but it will get to around 70-80% of the feeling that sort of a car gives you, while also being extremely comfortable and luxurious when you're off the track. That says a lot about the great work they did at BMW's M division.
We'll leave BimmerFile to it, enjoy!
