After announcing that M Performance Parts will be available on for the M5, M6 Coupe, M6 Convertible and M6 Gran Coupe in Europe, BMW released a statement yesterday confirming our guesses that they will also be bringing them to the North American continent.
One of the most important parts that will be making its way across the Atlantic is the M Carbon Ceramic Brakes. Designed exclusively for the most powerful BMW M models, the system's rotors are made of carbon ceramic composite, thus having an even higher heat resistance, low weight and high-resistance to wear.
Of course, the calipers are also improved to enhance the braking abilities when using M Carbon Ceramic Brakes. They now have 6 pistons at the front and one at the back. One other improvement these brakes bring is a combined weight reduction of 19.4 kg (42.8 lbs).
Talking about weight reduction, another important piece of equipment that will arrive in dealerships around the holidays is the M Performance Exhaust System. Developed in collaboration with Akrapovic, the new system is made completely out of titanium, saving 10 kg (22 lbs) off the car's total weight.
Other new parts include a racing steering wheel covered in Alcantara, with race display, carbon trim for the shift lever of the double clutch transmission, carbon interior trim, stainless steel pedals as well as BMW M Performance floor mats.
